While Target Ink routinely provides ongoing support to clients with websites it has originally built, the firm is currently working with a company to offer support on a website which isn’t one of theirs. 

PrimoConnect – which provides IT security and IT infrastructure services – has had its existing website since 2017 but needed support, primarily to boost its SEO. 

The website had been created on a well-known website-building platform but Chris Penny, Managing Director at PrimoConnect knew he needed to put some effort in to boost its SEO. 

“As somebody who works in IT, I decided I could probably do that myself and started watching clips on YouTube…” Chris explains. “But, I soon realised that I needed additional support from a company which was an expert in the field.”

He continues: “I started to look at options and one of our delivery partners recommended Target Ink.  I set up a video call with Rob Stevens [from Target Ink] and, very soon into that conversation, it became apparent that he knew what he was talking about. I decided to trial the service they could offer me in terms of both SEO optimisation and website maintenance and, so far, it’s going really well.”

Chris says that he’s found the maintenance support package offered by Target Ink to be really effective and efficient, with the majority of requests being actioned on the same day. 

“We use it to log that we need blogs and case studies added to our site, for instance, as well as any updates which might need doing,” he says. “We do make changes to the site ourselves as well and Target Ink are great at checking these have been actioned correctly by looking for any broken links etc, that we might have missed.”

But it is SEO support which is most key to PrimoConnect. 

“In theory, our website is there 24/7 selling for us and with SEO support onboard it’s like having a virtual salesperson working behind the scenes,” says Chris. “It can be a challenge gaining new business this way, as we are more used to people coming to us through recommendation. If they come through the website, then there isn’t that existing relationship. But, as we grow the business it is something we know we need to do.”

He adds that he appreciates the monthly SEO reports which are sent through from Target Ink. 

“They help us to see how well we are doing and what measures need to be put in place to boost our SEO,” Chris says. “We’ve certainly seen an increase in activity surrounding this and we are taking onboard the advice Target Ink is giving us about which key words to focus on and how we need to create more landing pages to benefit from them.”

He continues: “The Target Ink team has certainly helped us to look at our SEO more critically and shown us what we need to do and keep doing to make it work for us. It’s certainly all heading in the right direction. They are also really easy to deal with and I appreciate that we have a monthly retainer as, from a financial point of view, we know where we are.”
