The Brief / Project:

Web design for law firm in Tunbridge Wells.

The Client / Case Study:

Victoria Sampson / CooperBurnett

Here's what Victoria had to say:

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2021, the Tunbridge Wells-based law firm CooperBurnett LLP has built an enviable reputation for the excellent standard of its proactive advice across corporate and private law and it boasts a client base which stretches across the South East and beyond.

Since 1981, there have been many highlights, including being one of the very first firms in the UK to be awarded the Conveyancing Quality Scheme accreditation by The Law Society; former Partner, Jonathan Smithers, being President of The Law Society (2015 to 2016); and, in 2019, a team from CooperBurnett cycling from London to Paris in 24 hours and raising more than £25,000 for Brain Tumour Research.

Target Ink created CooperBurnett’s current website for the firm four years ago.

“We were recommended Target Ink by a client, who was very happy with the website Rob and the team had designed for them and by the customer service which they benefited from,” says Victoria Sampson, Partner and Head of Corporate and Commercial Services at CooperBurnett. “While the majority of our new business comes from referrals, we know that potential clients will jump onto our website to find out more about us, so it’s vital that it gives a good impression.”

Victoria says that Rob has helped her to understand the importance of adding regular content to the website to keep it relevant.

“As a firm, we have lots to talk about and regularly need to upload new blogs and news stories,” says Victoria. “The maintenance system which Target Ink offers means it’s simple to add new copy to our website and our requests are always actioned swiftly. We know that once it’s in the system, it will get done – there’s no need to chase. We also use the system to ask any questions we might have or to add content, such as new job roles or to make any changes, such as adding a new person to our ‘meet the team’ section.”

She continues: “When Covid-19 hit, we released a short statement and Target Ink added that to our home page very quickly and the firm has been prompt to make any additional changes over the months.”

Victoria adds that Rob makes everything straightforward.

“He’s really good at explaining the technical side of things to us and we are confident that Target Ink is doing the very best for us in terms of our SEO, for example,” she says. “We receive regular reports, so we can see which key phrases are working and which need polishing.”

She says that the pricing model which Target Ink uses makes sense from a business point of view.

“We pay a set monthly fee and the majority of what we ask to be done is usually included in that,” says Victoria. “If there’s anything extra, then Target Ink is upfront and transparent and tells us if there’s an additional free. For instance, we recently added a case study section to our website and the team made it clear what that would cost.”

She continues: “I would certainly recommend Target Ink to any business looking for a new website. They are really friendly people to deal with and I also like the fact that they are based near us in Tunbridge Wells, as it’s good to support local businesses.”

Target Ink is currently working on a new website for CooperBurnett, which is currently in the design phase.

“Having worked closely with Target Ink for the past four years, we had no hesitation approaching them to design our next website,” says Victoria. “We are really happy with the initial designs we’ve seen and how Target Ink has captured how we’d like our firm to be seen. It’s certainly more modern and we are using more video, for example, but it still very much reflects our culture. We are really happy to be continuing to work with the team at Target Ink.”
